Dining

The choice of dining venues at the lodge are wonderfully varied and the team understand the importance of dining experiences; from an ‘al fresco’ breakfast on our panoramic terrace to an intimate dinner for two in our private forest dining area, your senses will never tire of the abundant natural setting.

Hosted dinners in our well-appointed dining room are the norm, giving guests the chance to converse with like-minded travellers and our superb management team.

‘Bush dinners’ are offered from time to time under a glorious canopy of Mahogany and Milkwood trees on the island’s nature trail. Be serenaded by the local village choir whilst sampling the delights that the Chef has dreamt up, all under atmospheric lantern and star light.

Adventurous guests who would like a private experience may like to try a picnic on our nature trail or one of the many other islands in the river. Whatever the request, our proficient kitchen will provide a fitting repast for all.

Cuisine

We proudly believe that the very heart of the lodge is our kitchen and its staff who consistently produce unparalleled cuisine every day.

Using locally sourced fresh produce to create mouth-watering dishes is down to the commitment of our talented head chef. He predominantly sources his herbs and vegetables from a small community garden market that the lodge initiated some years ago in the local community. Whilst producing quality produce, this market garden brings much needed revenue to the local area and indeed, the community elders proudly show this to guests as part of our village walk.

Our constantly evolving menus offer fresh and wholesome ingredients whilst introducing some curious elements; from Venison Carpaccio or Ostrich and Pistachio terrine through to Amarula ice cream you can be sure to have your taste buds tantalized at every meal.
